The plight of Helen Taylor and her ten children; through bigotry, racism, segregation, and circumstance of poverty, makes for an inspiring, contemporary memoir. Through Helen Taylor's efforts to protect, educate, and put food on the table for her children, her unceasing agape love rises above it all. Sadly, the challenges of the Bennett Family are not uncommon in the 21st century among many black, white, Native American, single working moms and their families.
"A must-read! A true-life story of the effects of racism upon those unfortunate souls who have to bear it."
— Zander Copple
“An absolute inspiration for today's many single working moms.”
— Elizabeth Appleton
